What a creative group of sisters! Thanks for shining a light on their work, Dick. Your poem is an excellent tribute. I like the form, too.

Cheers Paul - it's a real pleasure. I have a feeling I would have enjoyed hanging out with these four. :-) Glad you enjoyed the haikai sonnet as well - I might try writing a few more and see if it sticks.

These are all beautiful poems. I must confess I am partial to the Helen Dudley poems you have presented. Thank you for your own offering.

Yeah, they're a wonderful bunch :-) Ah nice - yeah, Helen's ones are lovely. I think my favs are Caroline's - but only if I had to choose. They all have something special.

These are wonderful. I keep returning to that first one from Dorothy Dudley.

Yeah, agreed! I think for me Caroline's 'Chaotic Peace' is the one I return to most often, but that first one by Dorothy is also so damn good! "Sending speech to the stars" - what a line!

Thank you for the introduction to these intriguing sisters. I am particularly interested to see how they clearly inspired the development of aesthetic awareness in one another as both women and sisters. Your lovely tribute has allowed the “beautiful breathing form” of their voices to find an appreciative audience today.

Not bad as poets. Yes, there are so many who were popular or well-known in their times who are now forgotten or not much read. It is hard to see in the present the poets who will survive the passing of time. If they will go on to be remember at all. Good poems. I never heard of them until now.

Yeah - indeed. I think a lot of it depends on critics and anthologists working hard to make sure people are remembered as well, because when I look at who has been remembered and who has been forgotten from the early-1900s for instance, it certainly has nothing to do with skill or talent. So many phenomenal poets have been lost to time. Of course, it is also effected by the sheer volume of poetry published at this time - far exceeding previous generations. But yeah, agreed - how we remember and who we remember - fascinating questions! Cheers for the comment Luis.

Yes, you mention some good points. It is like the Nobel. It is not always the best writer of poet who wins it. Many have not and some not so good have.
